Laser Keyboard is Uber Cool, and reminds me of HAL

Good morning Dave.
Korean company Cellulon is releasing an updated version of its super cool and ultra trendy laser keyboard. The device works by printing the standard qwerty keyboard onto almost any surface and then tracks ones hand movements to determine what keys are being pressed.

With Bluetooth connectivity and a the awesomeness factor dialed, this Keyboard will have the trendiest Geeks salivating. The CL850 is available mid September from Cellulon for around $120.

Wii Fit gets a Price and Release Date

The Wii Fit/Balance Board is certainly an odd item. Guessing from a Gamestop add Nintendo plans to sell the device and game for $69.99 January 1st, 2008. Attempting to reach a larger audience with the Wii Fit, Nintendo left its hardcore fans a little disappointed at E3 when the Balance Board was unveiled.

/begin Sarcasm:

but fear not; buzz is circulating that the balance board is the defacto FPS controller for Metroid Prime Corruption

/end Sarcasm:

Im in ur gamez advertising my produk

So Capitalism is great, it keeps fresh products out on the market and allows the average man to make his own money. Okay fair is fair. But for pete's sake keep your ads out of my games! I love subliminal messaging as much as the next guy, but its hard to concentrate on my damn game when I go "is that a poster for Superbad in my game?" BLAM, I die and have to start over and swearing ensues.

No big deal, I won't make the same mistake again. I will however play another game where there's an add for some product which brings me to my point. How far does advertising have to go?

Games like Rainbow Six Vegas are still great no matter the advertisements for Axe and Superbad. I do get a slight feeling that I'm not playing a game so much as a commercial.

Games much like movies are starting to be viewed as art, and Axe Body Spray is NOT ART YOU NITWITS. Advertising in games make me feel like I'm watching TV and not immersing myself in the experience. This advertising in games is the start of an annoying trend and I for one, can do nothing about it except complain; and not buy games but that's not really an option.

Until I own all the video game companies and can keep ads out of games we're screwed.

Fujitsu developing 1.2 TB notebook hard drives

Hard drive manufacturer Fujitsu announced that they have developed a process which could quadruple the amount of hard drive space. The process uses aluminum oxide nano-holes ordered in ideal patterns on hard drive platters. In people terms this means more information can be written in a smaller space. Combine this with perpendicular technology (bits are positioned vertically as opposed to flat), Fujitsu says it can create a notebook drive with up 1.2 Terabytes of writable space using two platters. Don't expect anything yet, but they will be available to the public later on.

DX 10.1 Won't work with current DX 10 hardware

Leave it to Microsoft to screw over consumers.

For all of you like myself who just plunked down a couple hundred bucks on a spiffy new DX10 card, be prepared because DX 10.1 isn't "supported" by the current slate of DX10 cards on the market. What does that mean, well nothing TOO bad but if you thought you had the latest and greatest you might just be out of luck.

At Microsoft's annual SIGGRAPH conference, they gave a lecture on Directx10 and the eventual Directx10.1. Directx10.1 wont require SP1 for Vista, improves rendering and is not "supported" by the current Dx10 cards as the lecture stated. It's interesting why the current hardware won't be able to "support" Directx10.1 and whatever "support" means. Is it a software issue or is it truly a hardware problem?

This news could render the current DX10 cards out of date within six months time. Details are scarce on exactly why DX 10.1 is not supported. The validity of this information is still up for debate but until further news.

Two is alway better and you know it. Onsale.com has the Sli Ready PNY 640mb 8800GTS for $359.00 with free shipping. This eats today's current games for breakfast. With DX10 enabled and support a second card I'd pity the fool who didn't jump on this.

Ditch you're crappy setup and beg your mom for this sweet 5.1 surround speaker system from Buy.com for $77.99 after a $40 MIR. These Logitech z5300e systems are sexy and powerful and much like a Ford Pinto it won't break the bank. (unlike the Pinto these speakers do not catch on fire or explode)
